Head of Corporate Insurance Product Development (Techcom Insurance)

The Head of Corporate Insurance Product Development is responsible for leading the product strategy, development, governance, and performance management of the Corporate Insurance portfolio.
The role drives sustainable business growth by developing competitive insurance solutions, optimizing portfolio profitability, and ensuring alignment between customer needs, underwriting discipline, risk appetite, reinsurance strategy, and regulatory requirements.
The incumbent serves as the key bridge between Product, Underwriting, Distribution, Actuarial, Claims, Reinsurance and Risk Management functions to ensure the successful development and commercialization of corporate insurance products.

Product Strategy & Development

• Develop and execute the Corporate Insurance Product Strategy aligned with business objectives and growth targets.
• Lead end-to-end product development, enhancement, and lifecycle management across all Corporate Insurance product lines.
• Identify market opportunities, customer needs, emerging risks and competitor trends to drive product innovation.
• Design and enhance policy wordings, coverage structures, product features, value propositions and customer solutions.
• Conduct market research, benchmarking and portfolio analysis to strengthen product competitiveness.
• Establish product roadmaps and commercialization plans for new product launches.
• Monitor product performance and initiate enhancement actions to improve growth and profitability.

Product Governance, Underwriting & Portfolio Management

• Establish and maintain product governance frameworks, product policies and approval processes.
• Partner closely with Underwriting, Actuarial and Reinsurance teams to ensure product sustainability and profitability.
• Ensure products align with the company's risk appetite, underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Drive portfolio management initiatives including growth, retention, loss ratio and profitability improvement.
• Review pricing adequacy and product performance indicators, recommending strategic actions where required.
• Support development of underwriting rules, risk selection criteria and product acceptance standards.
• Evaluate new risks, market developments and emerging exposures impacting product performance.
• Lead product-related governance discussions with senior management and relevant committees.

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with Distribution teams to drive product adoption and market penetration.
• Provide technical product advisory for key brokers, strategic partners and corporate clients.
• Collaborate with Claims, Operations, Technology, Risk Management and Compliance teams to ensure effective product implementation.
• Maintain strong relationships with reinsurers and industry partners to support product development initiatives.
• Present product strategies, portfolio performance and recommendations to Executive Management.

People Management

• Lead and develop the Corporate Insurance Product Development team.
• Establish performance objectives, KPIs and capability development plans.
• Build strong product management and technical insurance expertise across the team.
• Coach and mentor team members to support succession planning and talent development.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, commercial outcomes and customer value.
• Promote collaboration across Product, Underwriting, Distribution and other key stakeholders.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Insurance, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Business Administration or related disciplines.
• Professional Insurance Qualification (ACII, FCII, CPCU or equivalent) is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 12 years of experience in Non-Life Insurance.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within Product Development, Underwriting, Corporate Insurance, Portfolio Management or related functions.
• Strong experience in Commercial/Corporate Insurance products such as Property, Engineering, Liability, Marine, Financial Lines and Group Health.
• Proven track record in product design, underwriting governance, portfolio management and profitability improvement.
• Experience working with brokers, reinsurers and large corporate clients.

Deep understanding of insurance regulations, market practices and product governance.
