Sales, Distribution and Business Development plays a vital role in understanding and meeting customer needs by offering the right solutions through the right channels to the right customer segments, thereby maximising value and business revenue. Responsible for achieving sales and revenue targets and implementing distribution strategy, the team drives the delivery of market leading retail customer experiences.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of VP Global Standards RBWM (STA 6 months)
- Oversee the implementation of the GS programmes / GS requirements across multiple functions/ channels within the in-country RBWM, working with the relevant stakeholders as well as regular interaction with the Country FCC Lead.
- Complete an impact assessment on the GS requirements, ensuring business impact is understood and agreed by all parties
- Ensure the gap analysis between current policies vs. future CDD policy and action plans to bridge the gaps
- Ensure the assessment of current infrastructure platform and support for system enhancement and/or new system deployment within given timeliness; SLA/ procedure/ guidance developed following new operating model and the operating model properly followed by related stakeholders (Data Readiness)
- Contribute to country governance framework for GS portfolio of programmes for RBWM
- Report programme scope, programme plans and cross programme dependencies for RBWM
- Confirm all local regulatory and legal requirements over and above the global standards; local language requirements;
- Support production of senior stakeholder reports periodically and on an ad-hoc basis.
- Input into communication and training materials spanning internal and external stakeholders ensuring they are fit for purpose
- Provide executive level updates to provide accurate, timely and insightful analysis of the progress of the GS programmes and workstreams, the impact on the business and intervention where necessary
- Build strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach, to support execution of programmes at pace and with minimum conflict
- Treat customers fairly and with integrity.
- Complete tasks and fulfill responsibilities as outlined in CDD LoBP, AML Policy; Sanctions Policy and always stay vigilant to identify and report warning signs to detect, deter and protect customers and the bank from fraud and financial crimes
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Candidate is the current HSBC staff
- Proven record of effective management in a leadership role, including planning and decision making, identifying priorities and bringing a wide range of projects to successful completion.
- Strong business understanding of RBWM objectives and operating model as well as Group policies and standards.
- Experience of managing resources in senior roles to achieve objectives using appropriate communication delegation and planning skills.
- Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems whilst maintaining budgets, time scales and quality of output.
- Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and be change oriented
- Excellent written communication skills – ability to clearly document the current state and the recommendations
- Ability to build connections and work collaboratively across the Group.
- Demonstrated experience delivering large scale business initiatives– ideally in the regulatory space related to customer account opening/due diligence, within a Retail Banking & Wealth Management context.
