Job description:
This position supports and reports directly to the Head of Legal & Compliance Department (HOD) in terms of legal work.
Assisting HOD in legal work:
• Summarizing laws and regulations governing or relating to banking operations with acumen analysis of their impact on the bank’s business operation, and suggested actions to be taken;
• Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, procedure manuals of other departments, and other documents or papers lawfully binding the Bank, from the perspectives of Vietnamese law, taking into account of Head Office’s compliance rules;
• Providing legal advices and legal researches on banking-related matters to other departments, Management and Head Office, including but not limited to, legal risks associated with new products and/or services;
• Proactively participating in contract negotiations with customers;
• Resolving industrial disputes and lawsuits; and
• Providing legal training for other departments, especially on important banking regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in law;
- Good knowledge of Vietnamese investment law, company law, contract law, banking law, international commercial law, and dispute resolution;
- Having gained solid legal knowledge and being good at dealing with disputes and litigation & arbitration procedures;
- At least 2 years of legal work experience in the banking and/or finance industry etc… In-house counsel experience in a local or a multi-national company or legal expert in a reputable law firm is an advantage;
- Rather good legal drafting and negotiation skills with a strong commercial acumen;
- Good interpersonal skills and written English skills; and fluent in English speaking;
- Good team-work spirit, able to work independently, able to deliver jobs within a tight deadline;
- Honest, careful, work-devoted, and strong determination to overcome big challenges and under high pressure; and
- Literate computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes.
